Summer Reading Challenge 2015
September 27, 2015 by cgood6608
On Friday 25th September local librarian Dearbhla, from Bunclody Library came to school to present certificates and medals to the fifteen pupils from our school who completed the Summer Reading Challenge this year. We are delighted to promote this programme and we include information about the reading challenge in our packs with our annual reports in June. Each year a number of pupils take part, and this year was the largest group to date with 15 out of our 71 pupils completing the required number of books by the end of August. Comhghairdeas a pháistí! Rinne sibh an iarracht agus tá bualadh bos mór tuillte daoibh!
Classroom visits to our local library will start shortly. We are so lucky in Bunclody to have a great bunch of librarians who organise children’s events, speakers, workshops, reading circles, chess clubs, exhibitions, help with project research and of course manage books. All children are encouraged to become familiar with the services that our local library offer. Thank you to Dearbhla and the team of librarians who help us when we visit!
